Folk rock with a humorous twist.

Hi my name is Spaceman Africa. For real. I changed my name legally over 15 years ago and have since had many funny experiences because of it. Combine that with the extensive traveling I’ve done and I have a wide variety of funny experiences to draw from for writing songs.

I have a collection of original autobiographical humorous folk/indie/rock songs. Usually, I’m poking fun at myself. Friends and fans describe my style similar to Lou Reed and Bob Dylan, and lyrics comparable to Flight of the Conchords and Tenacious D.

In my home town of Canberra, I usually play with a band, which is awesome. The extra elements add so much to the songs. Otherwise I play solo with acoustic guitar.  So, if you live in Canberra or nearby I might be able to drag the band along with me.
